MM-MUN 2021 - VIRTUAL
Marymount High School, Los Angeles Sunday, 14 March 2021 Theme: “Protect. Preserve. Prosper.” Registration, Fees, Deadlines: The school registration fee is waived this year; the individual delegate fee is $10. Checks should be made out to “Marymount High School – MUN.” Unfortunately, we cannot accept credit card payments. All fees should be paid in advance; deadline Monday, 8 March 2021. The final delegation count will also be due 8 March 2021. Supervision: Clearly, in this current virtual world, there will be no physical supervision. It makes us sad that we will not be able to welcome you all personally to our beautiful campus this year, and we look forward to your visit in 2022! Food: We are so sorry that we cannot offer lunch this year along with the famous Diddy Reese cookie and ice cream sandwiches for dessert! Hopefully next year ... Attire: The dress code for delegates is the standard “Western Business Attire” required at all MUN conferences, at least as far as everyone can see online! Parking & Security: Virtual conference = no people on campus, and thus, no vehicles in the parking lot and no security personnel. Single vs. Dual Delegates: All committees are single delegate unless specifically noted in the Topic Synopsis for each committee. Position Papers: The focus of the conference will be diplomacy & performance and therefore, position papers are not required. However, delegates are urged to prepare their topics and speeches thoroughly in advance in order to create substantive debate in committee.

Pre-written Resolutions: Pre-written resolutions violate the purpose of collaboration at a MUN conference. Violators will not receive awards, and will be reported to their Faculty Advisors/Moderators. Awards: Individual performance awards will be presented at three levels in every committee – best delegate (gavel), outstanding, and commendation. No delegation awards are given. Individual delegate score sheets will be sent to Moderators/Faculty Advisors after the conference. You may access MM-MUN's Scoring Criteria here. This year, certificates will be sent virtually in printable .pdf format. However, we will mail gavels to Faculty Advisors/Moderators. Technology Statement:
